Access Statement for The Trentwood

Pre-Arrival

• The Trentwood is situated on a main road with on-street parking opposite. The Trentwood is approximately quarter of a mile to the centre of Blackpool and approximately 200 metres to the sea front

• The nearest shops are approximately 15 metres away
•
• The nearest bus stop is about 50metres away.
•
• The nearest railway station is Blackpool North approximately 500 metres away.
• Taxis are available from the station or we can book one for you in advance if required.
•
• There are several local taxi companies and we can make bookings in advance for you.
•
• We are unable to accommodate dogs and cats.
•
• Brochures and menus can be provided in large print if required but we regret we do not have facilities to prepare documents in braille.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so that we can be sure we are here to welcome you.
•
• Our normal check-in time is 3.00pm however earlier arrival may be possible by arrangement.
•
• On street parking is available opposite The Trentwood at a cost of £1.40 for 2 hours (9.00am - 5.00pm) free on Sundays.

Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area

• There are 2 steps of 9 inches up to the front door.
•
• The front door is always kept locked but all guests are issued with front door keys to allow access anytime. There is a bell on the front door to attract our attention.

Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

• The entrance to The Trentwood leads into reception, bar and dining room.
•
• There are 14 steps to the first floor,with a handrail on one side of these stairs. The stairs are carpeted.
• There are 14 steps to the second floor with a handrail on one side of these stairs. These stairs are carpeted.
•
• There are downstairs tolilets reached by 14 steps. These stairs are carpeted.
•
• We have 10 bedrooms on the first floor and 11 bedrooms on the second floor.

Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc

• Guests are welcome to use the bar/lounge at any time.
•
• The dining room has several tables with straight back chairs. The dining room has a TV.
•
• The bar/lounge has several sofa and individual bar seats. The bar/lounge has laminate flooring. The bar/lounge has a TV.
•
• Breakfast and Evening meals are served in the dining room.
•
• The Trentwood is licensed for the sale of alcohol.

Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas

• All bedrooms are carpeted.
•
• All bedrooms have either 4' 6 double beds or 3' 0 single beds.
•
• There are ensuite facilities in all rooms consisting of a bath/shower WC and hand basin.
•
• Tea and coffee facilities are provided in all rooms
•
• A TV with freeview and sky channels is in all bedrooms.
•
• The beds and pillows are made with synthetic fibres.
• A telephone with direct dial facility is in every bedroom
• We are happy to supply sheets and blankets if preferred. Please advise us before your arrival if required.

• There is a wardrobe/garment rail drawers in all rooms.
•
• Some of our bedrooms are not large enough to accommodate additional fixed seating.
•
• There is a folder in each bedroom which contains further information about The Trentwood and details of emergency contacts.

Additional Information

• There is a fire extinguisher in the entrance hall and another on the first and second floors.
•
• The premises are fully L2 fire alarmed. In the event of a fire the alarm will sound. Please advise us if you have a hearing impairment and might not hear the alarm.
•
• The building can be evacuated via the front door at the bottom of the main guest staircases.
•
• We do not permit smoking anywhere on the premises.
•
• We are happy to cater for special diets please advise us before your arrival.
•
• We have free WiFI throughout The Trentwood please ask at reception for the access code.
